BUILDgruppe is a movement for resident-led housing that aims to build affordable, high-quality medium density apartments in the heart of Maylands.
So what is ‘resident-led housing’? It is where residents, not developers, are the driving force behind their own housing. BUILDgruppe is based on the German concept of Baugruppen, a resident driven model that bypasses developers to deliver housing at cost in a socially and environmentally conscious way. We would love to bring a development like this to the heart of Maylands, but first, we need future residents; the ‘Gruppe’ to be part of the journey to create a new community in Maylands.
